Getting started with 3D

Posted by Unknown | | Category: | 0 comments

Viewing movies and TV in high definition 3D is truly stunning and with more and more people adopting this new technology it’s important to know just what is required to get started and then get the most out of it.

The first thing you’ll need is a television capable of displaying 3D images. Be aware that there is a difference between full 3D capability and 3D Ready televisions.

Full 3D displays are capable of running 3D straight away whereas some 3D Ready sets could only be compatible with certain types of 3D signal. If a television is listed as 3D Ready, always double check what the retailer means by this.

3D glasses are essential to 3D viewing. Whilst most 3D televisions will come packaged with at least one pair, ensure that you have enough pairs so that all members of your household can enjoy 3D.

Once set up you’ll need some 3D content. Sky television has a dedicated 3D channel for its subscribers at no extra cost, although chances are you didn’t buy a 3DTV to watch one channel!

Most Blu Ray players will be compatible with your 3D TV and since the current crop of 3D technology was developed for movies, the effects are stunning. If a film was released in 3D at the cinema, chances are it’s available in 3D on Blu Ray for you to enjoy in the comfort of your own home.

Sony’s Playstation 3 is also 3D compatible with several games already supporting the innovation and most future titles expected to. Gaming in 3D makes the experience even more immersive than ever.

Whilst none of the above devices required for 3D viewing come cheap, the benefits far outweigh the costs and with 3D looking like it’s here to stay, any investment is likely to stand the test of time.

Get Your Own Google+ Vanity URL

Get Your Own Google+ Vanity URL

Get Your Own Google+ Vanity URL

Google plus is launched and is available only by invitation. If you are invited to Google Plus and have created a account than you might have noticed that unlike Facebook and Twitter, Google+ doesn’t offer vanity URLs for user profiles
For example for Twitter our blog has following vanity URL
http://twitter.com/#!/theinfoground

Google uses a long string of numbers to denote users. This is used for security reasons so that spammers could not figure out your email address.

This string is helpful in saving your email ID from spammers on the other hand it creates difficulty for you to remember it or sharing it.You have to be carefull while typing or sharing this string with your friends to find your Google+ Profile.
Solution of this problem is Gplus.to. This simple little app lets you create a short URL for your Google+ page, making it easy to share with your friends.

Gplus.to fills a gap that Google+ doesn’t currently address. Should Google give users the ability to create vanity URLs, or is it too much of a privacy concern because of its connection to Gmail? Feel free to let us know in the comments.

iPhone 5 launch expected in 3rd Quarter

iPhone 5

New rumors about release date of Apple's iPhone 5 are in the market.According to new rumors Apple’s next-generation iPhone will launch in the third quarter and the company plans to ship 25 million units by year’s end, according to a report.

Citing “people familiar with the situation,” The Wall Street Journal reports that Apple has placed orders with suppliers in Taiwan for some of the next iPhone’s key components. The new version of the iPhone will include an 8-megapixel camera (compared to the current 5-megapixel) and will be thinner and lighter than the iPhone 4.

The article also cites a source who says the new iPhone will use Qualcomm’s baseband chips. The current iPhone uses memory chips from Samsung and baseband chips from Infineon Technologies, according to a report from iSuppli Corp.

Apple is telling suppliers to produce enough of the phones to meet a goal of 25 million units by year’s end. By comparison, Apple said it sold 18.65 million iPhones in the fiscal second quarter, which ended March 26. The initial units will ship to assembler Hon Hai in August.

This new information jibes with other information that has leaked out about the release. Last month, Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty sent a note to clients stating that the next iPhone would begin production in August. Rumors about the new iPhone also surfaced last month, including one from Boy Genius Report that cited a source saying the iPhone 5 would sport a “radical new case design.” Bloomberg also reported that the model would have an 8-megapixel camera and an AS5 processor and would be available in September.

Blogger and Picasa have been a part of Google from long time.Picasa was acquired in 2004 and Blogger (co-founded by Evan Williams of Twitter) was acquired in 2003.Blogger is one of the top ten most visited sites of the world.Even my blog Information Ground is also running on Blogger Platform.

Re-branding these two products could upset some existing customers. But it will give Google the ability to completely integrate both services into Google+.Rebranding could be done in upcoming 4 to 6 weeks.
